The End // Project 366

Can you believe it?

Today is my 366th post for this project... 366 days in a row of documenting delight... (not to mention the hours of uploading, editing, writing, blogging). Yowzers, I cannot believe it's here! Hmm... mixed emotions, I must admit. Relief, sadness, nostalgia (already!), excitement, pride...

A little project I began on a whim at the start of 2012 is now complete. Somehow I have made it through the year and captured hundreds of moments, many big, many more small, that otherwise would perhaps already be forgotten... in fact I know they were forgotten because I flicked back through a little and had no recollection of so many of the little scenes I had captured.

Much reflection, musings and analysing of this Project is possible... but the thing I feel most of all is that I will only grow more appreciative of this endeavour as time passes... the captured moments will grow richer in my heart, the satisfaction with the end result will continually increase. The children I hope will enjoy this collection to look back on, over and over, and I know it's a year we will remember and treasure in our family history because of the unique way it was recorded - so abundantly!! Who knows if I will ever take it on again but for now I am thankful to say...

It is done.

I made it.

With thanks to my lovely husband for faithfully reading and encouraging me, cheering me on, and even surprising me with a 'fancy' camera!

To everyone who has been reading along... I see the numbers ticking by but have no idea who most of you are (this would be the perfect time to speak up and leave a comment if you haven't before!) - but thanks so much for reading, for commenting, for encouraging me through the sometimes looooong weeks. The public accountability has definitely kept me on track even through ups and downs and I'm always touched that people are taking time to read my ramblings and view my photos. Like, touched and shocked, actually!

Of course - Lily and Eli - my beautiful little muses. Ultimately, this is for you guys - you two and the little one who has been quietly growing inside me, preparing to join our family throughout most of this year! Thanks kiddos, for your patience, your charm, your many funny and sweet interactions and adventures that were so fun (mostly!) to capture. I love all three of you to pieces. Hope you enjoy the end result and feel the love with which this was done.

This lil' blog is a love letter to my family - 366 days of gratitude for the blessings in my heart, my arms, my life. May I never take for granted, may I always seek out the delight and while I may not always document as thoroughly as I have in 2012...

I will always be thankful!

  10. Hooray!! Congrats, Kate!! I am so very happy to have met you through this project. Your photos always showcase so much joy and happiness, and you are a brilliant writer. I envy you for being able to express yourself so well. You've inspired me to work on my creative/expressive writing skills. And, you have done well to hide your secret identity all year, however, I now know that you are Wonder Woman! How else do you explain being able to do this project (pictures AND writing) for two kids, with another on the way?!?! :-)

  12. Well my amazing freind you did it. The odds were firmly stacked against you with the most horrible sickness and ANYONE would have supported you if you made the decion to stop. But you didn't and your persistence has paid off and revealed a lot about who you are as a person. You ar a very strong woman Kate and it has been shown again and again as you pushed through this project.

I have enjoyed being with you as we have completed this 366 project together. I have loved seeing my kids pop up on your blog and being able to feature your beautiful kids on mine.

Your love for your children and your dedicated approach towards parenting has inspired me in many ways.

Thank you for your beautiful reflections and photos throughout the year. I am so proud of you! xxxxxx
