After such a decadent weekend of relaxing and refreshing time for me, it was time to invest some of that overflowing cup of energy back into my sweet children... it felt good to enter the week with a renewed sense of purpose and intentionality. How blessed I am to have these precious little lives in my hands to nourish and nurture!
So today we hit up the Library for Story Time... it was a surprisingly grey and chilly day but we rugged up nonetheless and headed on out for some good old booky-goodness...

L: I love you, my little Brother... |
|
L: Let's have a little kiss! E: Sure thing! |
|
E: Too much!! Too much!! |
We got there early of course to browse and read...
|
My littlest bookworm intently browsing... |
|
She is so intent in her reading these days, I just love it! |
|
Eli's preferred reading position... |
The theme today was all about mothers due to the upcoming Mother's Day, so the kids got read a bunch of sweet books about mothers like 'Guess How Much I Love You' and they even sang some sweet songs for all the Mums - pretty cute!! Afterwards they were given these face sheets to draw pictures of their Mums... I got several portraits whipped up by my resident artist, such as the one below. Featuring earrings, a rather large and stunning feature necklace and of course my black flowing locks... needless to say, I was flattered, heehee!

Muuuuuum, this book bag is too heavy for me! |
Love books, love my kids, love fostering what I hope will be a life-long love of reading in them!
looks SO cold!! Love the pics, they are gorgeous. Looks like it was a lot of fun!!
ReplyDeleteoh gosh how cute is sibling love! My "big" girl has just started to read too (or try really hard)...such a magical experience...and what a fun library
ReplyDeleteRidiculously cute!
ReplyDeleteLovely to see some sibling love. :)
Firstly, love that your quoted a Justine Clarke song in your post title :)
ReplyDeleteAnd then to be hit with all those ADORABLE sibling kissing shots! Gosh! Those two just love it each so much! It makes me so happy to see it.
Lots like a lovely and relaxing trip to storytime. How blessed are we to have these activities in our community?
i knew you would pick up the subtle reference!! ;) Yes they do (mostly) adore each other and the physical affection is so sweet. Yes it was a great storytime esp w the theme!! one of the new goals i set during my time away was getting more reading/reading experiences into daily life - yes very much inspired by you too!! you know, apart from just reading books, more library trips etc! been reading books over lunch time too which is great (captive audience!).
DeleteWhat a great goal to set! I agree, there is so much more to "reading" then just reading & listening to books. Great thing about children's books is that there are so many ways you can connect with the text outside of reading the book alone (cooking, artworks, excursions, imaginative play etc)
DeleteI look forward to seeing what else you do to fulfil this goal :)
